Late Monday Check In 4/11

Sorry for the late post.... it was bad this weekend!! Ashamed.... but I think I learned my lesson! At least I hope so. It all started Friday night, I got a Kashi Mediterranean pizza for me and a Digorno Pepperoni pizza with cookies for the rest of the house. I though I would be good and only have ONE cookie, but ONE cookie led to another and another and another and so on.

Saturday for some reason I ate Cinnamon Toast Crunch for breakfast. I did manage to have a Shakeology for lunch, because my church was having and Apple Dumpling thing and I didn't want to totally over do everything. We got there and well I had ONE Apple Dumpling, then my daughters only liked the ice cream, so there sat two perfectly good Apple Dumplings. I hate to waste things especially when money is really tight right now, so yes I ate another, but I did not eat three!! After church we headed out to our friends house to meet up with my husband JR. Oh, and we are now the proud owners of a four wheeler! Well, we went mudding!! And let me tell ya I had a blast!! Getting on that four wheeler and pounding through HUGE mud pits is just so much fun!! This was the first time we took both our daughters. Joclyn(oldest will be 7 on the 24th) had a blast! Bella(2) she did not like being dirty! We got home around 9 and everyone was starving!!! So, we ordered pizza........ Sunday wasn't too bad other than I finished off a bag of Doritos...
Yes, that is mud plastered all over my face.

Monday, I spent almost the whole day paying for what I had done over the weekend.... I was almost glued to the toilet seat! My stomach felt to awful!! Well, that's behind me. I picked myself up and started fresh Monday and so far have been great today.

I never fail at my exercises though, that's my true addiction..... And yes I will admit, I am addicted to Fitness!! If I don't get something in I feel like crap!! Will do an update on how the swimming is going later this week. So, here was my Tri training for last week!!

Monday Weigh In 4/4

All I can say is ugh. I just feel so yucky today. I hope that what ever this is passes soon. The rest of the family seems to have what ever this is too. So everyone is a little slow and sluggish. Well, last week went really well. I ate well with the exception of Saturday evening.... A friend of mine got married, and well ya know how that goes with the Reception. I pigged out a bit, had 2 pieces of cake, about 20 or so jello shots, and 4 glasses of champagne. And shockingly I was not even close to being drunk. I couldn't quite figure that one out. We all had a wonderful time though. Sunday I really tried to make up for all the stuff that I ate and drank. I will keep it short and sweet this week.

Weight 144.6
Loss of 1.2!!!

Monday
  • Ran 2.38 mi

Tuesday
  • Biked 2 mi

Pitfalls

What is your healthy/weight loss pitfall? Mine, is the weekends and I have realized this! Weekends are a time that there is no set schedual with anything and things happen on their own accord. Like this last weekend. We ended up moving the rest of my grandmothers things out of the house and I ended up vacuming both the up and down stairs. My parents went and bought McDonalds for lunch. Then by the time we were done I was totally exausted and we ended up getting pizza for dinner.

I did wonderful all week with my food, that is until the weekend hits then it is caos.... Sunday though I do have to say I did somewhat better. I also went to church for the first time in a long time and I have to say I enjoyed it and needed to get back in there. I will be back next Sunday! At the begininning of the year something said to me that I need to go back to church and I really thought about it, but didn't know where to go. Last weekend a friend of ours invited us to their church and so we went(the girls and I, I cann't get JR in there yet).

I am still so in love with the app FatSecret! It is so easy to use and I have been tracking everything, the good, the bad and the ugly!

I will be weighing in later this week and will post then!  I hope that everyone has a great week!!

#Mamavation Monday 3/7

Last week went well. Although I was sick for a day and didn't get any exercise in that day, but I ate healthy. I think I really needed that as a rest day anyway, because my shoulders were killing me! I was bad only one time last week and that was yesterday. A friend came over and ordered pizzas for us for dinner. I was so completely tired, that I just ate. For the last 3 nights I have only been sleeping 3-4 hours, then I wake up and can't go back to sleep.

With this frustration of not loosing any weight and not loosing any inches(now that I am looking way back, wow!) I have stayed about the same since December! One thing that I do remember is I started having a snack in between breakfast & lunch and lunch & dinner about the same time I stopped loosing. I would have a snack weather I was hungry or not. Last week I realized this and I decided to stop with the in between snacks, but if I am really hungry I will munch on some veggies, fruit, or almonds. Another thing that I was not accounting for was coffee creamer! So, I have started today with one cup measured out and that is all that I will use. By the way I LOVE Coconut milk!! We will see if this helps anything. One big thing that I have been so unsure of is "How many calories should I be eating?" I think about 1200 is good, but I am not sure. If any of you want to chime in that would be great! I have been eating around 1500-2000 a day, so I think 1200 should be good. I know not to go under that though.

I am also doing the 100 Push up Challenge! I did 16 on my initial first test and I will be starting the program today!

Yesterday, we also found out that it was the last week for JR to apply for his unemployment. We are hoping that he can get an extension, but who knows. He is on his way to find out as I write this. With in the next month or so he will be back to work, but this is just so scary. I have applied for a few jobs, but have yet to hear back.

Update on my mom: She had her appointment with the surgeon from Pittsburgh and it went really well! He is expecting her surgery to only take 2-3 hours instead of the 7-8 from the other guy. Also she won't be out of work for as long. This guy was totally different from the other doctor and has heard nothing but good things about him.

Here is what I did last week:

Monday
HIIT 15
Sculpt 30

Tuesday
Fire 45

Wednesday
HIIT 15
Tone 30
Ran/Walked 1.38 mi

Thursday

I won't be weighing in until later this week and I will update you all then.

My goals for this week:
  • Get in more running!
  • Track my food
I hope that everyone has a wonderful week!!!

Oh, and by the way I have been 45 days smoke free!!

Mamavation Monday- 2/21

How is everyone doing this week? I hope that everyone is doing well! I had a good week last week and I am hoping to continue on that streak!

I did great with my workouts as usual. Hubby had gotten me some weighted gloves for Turbo Fire and I used them all last week! I think I get more excited over fitness gifts than anything else! Can I say WOW,  my back and shoulder muscles were sore for a few days, but it felt awww sooo goood!!! You might think I am crazy, but I love being a little sore! Oh, and by the way you are going to have to check out MY FIRST TIME!!!

I have decided that I am not weighing in this week due to a few factors. Monthly bloat issues and also the fact that I started using the weighted gloves. I know that I built a ton of muscle with them already and I don't want to discourage myself.

After doing a full week of logging what I ate, I feel so in control! I continued to do the Weight Watchers points and so far it seems to be working great! It's actually really easier than what I thought it was going to be. Yoga and reading filled those mindless after dinner hours and I think I may have only snacked twice last week, instead of almost every night.

Here is what I have planned for this week:

Monday- Fire 45 EZ
               Core 20
               Yoga

Tuesday- Fire 45 EZ
                Run

Wednesday-Fire 30
                Sculpt 30
                Run

Thursday-Core 20
                  Tone 30
                  Yoga

Friday- Fire 45 EZ
             Run

Saturday- Rest

Sunday- Core 20
              Yoga

I hope that everyone has a wonderful week!!

Mamavation Monday 2/14

Happy Valentines Day!!

I hope that everyone has a wonderful Valentines Day today!I don't have anything exciting going on today just another day. I might put on a teddy tonight for the hubby, but that's all I am saying!

Last week went good! I did do my Shakeology 3 day cleanse and it went great! I ended up loosing 1.6 pounds total. I also have my control back!

A few years ago my grandmother gave me her Weight Watchers booklet and I decided to dig it out of hiding last week. So, I started using it last week and was surprised that I am not quite eating enough during the day and thus would explain a lot of my hunger issues at night! I also spoke to my mom about my night time eating issue and she told me to knit. Thinking about that I also realized that before Christmas I never really had this issue. The reason being....I did yoga at night! I haven't been doing yoga for awhile, so I did do one session of it last week and am thinking of incorporating more in this week. And yes I think I may also start knitting again, just to keep me busy.

I did great with my exercises. Although I didn't get any running in last week I am going to get that in this week! Here is what I have planned for this week:

Monday-

Fire 55
Run

Tuesday-
Fire 30
Sculpt 30
Yoga

Wednesday-
Fire 45
Run

Thursday-
Fire 30
Tone 30
Yoga

Friday-
Fire 55
Run

Saturday-

Sunday-

Have a great week everyone!!

Mamavation Monday 12/7

Well, what can I say about last week???? It wasn't a great week eating wise, that is for sure! I did get a lot of exercises in, but all in all it didn't even weight it's self out. I ended up gaining 1.6 pounds last week.

I really need to focus on my eating! I am doing great with writing down what I eat, until after lunch. Then I just feel like I am so hungry and eat like I am not getting enough! I have also been eating a lot after dinner. It's like if I am not doing something constructive when I get home, I am eating. The worst time is after I get the girls in bed and JR and I are watching TV. I think I have just lost control, so this week I am going to put a leash on this and get it under control! On the plus side to my eating I have been getting in about 72oz or more water a day.

I have decided to do a Shakeology Cleanse. Last time I did one I did notice that it really helped me to gain control over what I ate. I also didn't crave as many sweet things after I was done with it. I am currently using the Greenberry and am hoping to get my Chocolate in tomorrow. The Greenberry is good, but I so prefer the Chocolate!!

My biggest goal for this week is to control what I put into my body!!

I hope that everyone has a superific week!!

Mamavation Monday 1/24

Last week went fairly well. I did over indulge a few times, but it was better than the week before, so I think that is progress. I have also been tracking my calories and have been doing good with it. I still need to work on getting that into routine though.

Workouts went great last week. I started running again! I haven't ran since November. I think I may have pushed myself a bit to far with it because I started getting shin splints. :( This week I am not going to push myself as much. The reason I started running is because my friend and I committed to running a 5k this summer! You can read my Am I Crazy, Insane, Nuts? post to find out more!

Weight: 150

Mamavation Monday 1/17

Life has been different lately. I am trying to get myself into some kind of a schedule with working, working out, house stuff, and other things. I have also been trying to quit smoking! I am down to about 2 a day!! I have also given up coffee (or should I say I have only had it twice in two weeks).

I had a OB appointment last week and I talked to her about my hypothyroidism. I just still don't feel right. I am still so tired and could sleep almost all day and still feel tired. I told her that I don't think I am on a high enough dosage. She told me that she wanted to check my levels and then if they still seem ok, then she is referring me to a specialist! I have also been doing some research on what I should and shouldn't eat. Here are the things that I need to avoid Brussels sprouts, cabbage, cauliflower, broccoli, peanuts, pears, pine nuts, soybeans, kale, mustard, peaches and turnips. I should also add that I am going dairy free as much as possible. I knew a few months ago after I did an experiment: I did not eat dairy products for one week, after that week I slowly introduced it back and got some extreme bloating. As a child I was allergic to dairy, but thought I out grew it, guess not. The last few weeks I have been eating dairy and have felt like crap. So, one of my goals is to not eat dairy.
Week 3 of Turbo Fire and I am so in love with it! My favorite so far is all the HIITs. That is High Intensity Interval Training, you go as hard as you can form anywhere between 30-60 seconds and then you recover for the same amount of time, then do another HIIT! It's so much fun.

For the last 2 months my weight has just stayed in the 149-152 range and I am so ready to just throw these pounds! Alot had to do with the holidays and not eating as well as I know I should be.

Here is my Turbo Fire Schedule for the week:
3

Monday-
Fire 45 EZ
Stretch 10

Tuesday-
HIIT 25
Stretch 10

Wednesday-

Rest

Thursday-

HIIT 15

Stretch 10

Saturday-

Core 20
Stretch 40

Sunday-

Weight: 151.4

These are my before pics for Turbo Fire.

Goals:
  • Don't eat dairy
  • Drink at least 64 oz of water
  • Loose 1 pound
  • Eat 5-6 meals a day

Have a great week everyone! Can't wait to party Mamavation style tonight and find out who the new Mamavation Mommas are gonna be!!

Monday 1/3

All I can say is it's been a Monday after a vacation. I swear I tossed and turned all night long! For what reason, I have no clue! I have been sleeping wonderful for a long time, but for some reason I just could not last night. Anyway, December is gone and I don't wish to even think about it. I am just moving forward and looking up!

If you are not on some sort of a schedule get on one!! I think that is the whole reason for why my December was not a very good month at all. I have officially started Turbo Fire today and I am feeling so much better already! I also did some yoga last night as well and that was just amazing! I love yoga! I am going to go back to scheduling my workouts and I have my Turbo Fire workout schedule posted on the wall to really hold me accountable. I think I am also going to be throwing in some more strength training in there as well and definitely yoga a few times a week(even if it is only 20 minutes I need this!).

I started doing a Shakeology Cleanse yesterday. I think I am only going to do it for 2 days though and not the 3, because I don't think I will be getting enough into my body in order to sustain myself with working out. I was originally going to start with it Saturday, but when we went to pick up the girls at the in laws, we were invited to stay for dinner. I didn't want to be rude or anything so I let that slide and started on Sunday instead. My starting weight was 151.8 and today's weight was 150.4! So that is a loss of 1.4 pounds in one day!! That is so awesome!!

This is what I ate yesterday:

Breakfast- Shakeology
A cup of Green Tea
Snack- Apple
A cup of Green Tea
Lunch- Shakeology
Snack- Shakeology
Dinner- Salad with salmon and light dressing(I was actually supposed to use a lean white meat, but forgot the white part)

And today will be the same, but I will use a white meat this time! One thing that I do have to say about doing this cleanse, is that I have had the control to do this. I don't know where it came from, but this feeling that I am in control with what goes into my body is amazing! Last month I totally lost control and it is such a wonderful feeling to have it back! Can't wait for some real healthy food though!

Here is my Schedule for this week:

Monday- Fire 30, Stretch 10
Tuesday- HIIT 15, Stretch 10

Wednesday- Rest day
Thursday- Fire 30, Stretch 10
Friday- Fire 30, Stretch 10
Saturday- Fire 30, Stretch 10
Sunday- Core 20, Stretch 40

Here are some of my goals for this week:

  • Eat healthy foods, 5-6 times a day!
  • Drink loads of water!

Checking In! 12/20

The tree is up, stockings are hung, and that's about it. This year I just have not gotten into the holiday spirit. It has been snowing since the beginning of December and it could leave any day now and I would be thrilled! The snow came on way to early this year. We don't normally start getting hammered like we have been until January. I used to love snow, but every year I get older I dislike it a bit more each year. I just can never seem to get warm, my hands and feet are always freezing.

I have been trying to workout as much as I can with all the holiday craziness, but I have been getting a bit off track with all of it. I have been trying to do my best, with eating right, but I have given in quite a bit with all the sweet treats around. Maybe after the holidays I will be able to get my mind set back on track.

I also haven't done my usual holiday Christmas cookie baking this year. I don't want to be tempted to eat those cookies. I did make one batch though and let me tell ya they didn't last long.

I cannot wait for 2011!! This year has had it's ups and downs. The best part of 2010 was that I lost over 20 pounds in 6 months with the help and support of Mamavation! I love you all! I will be starting Turbo Fire after the new year and maybe that will really help me to jump start the New Year and get my mind back on track. Another thing that I have been neglecting is my yoga. My biggest problem is finding a time when it is quiet in the house. Before when JR was working he would go to bed early and the kids would also be in bed. Now that he is laid off he is up with the TV blaring so it's hard to find that peace. I don't know maybe I need to find a pair of head phones with an extra long cord!

I am really hoping to be able to go to Beachbody Super Saturday Event in the Burgh. on January 8th! I will be learning all the new and exciting things that will be happening with BeachBody in the New Year as well as group workout! As long as the weather isn't to bad(1.5 hour drive) I will be there and I now that will help me get out of this slump!

This week’s blogging carnival is sponsored by @tribalenergy4u. Two winners of the carnival will win a Tribal Energy Cardio DVD.

Mamavation Monday- 12/6

I think a few of you have been wondering why I have been posting alot of things about BeachBody and their products. Well, I am officially a Independent Team Beachbody Coach! I am just blown away everyday by all the support that BeachBody has provided not only by the health and fitness support, but by the business support as well! I have never seen a company give you so much help! I love BeachBody!! If you have any questions just let me know!

Last week went fairly good. I got Turbo Fire!!! So far I have done only a few of the workouts and talk about some major cardio!!! It has been quite a few months since I have actually been sore from working out and just after doing the HIIT(High Intensity Interval Training) 15, boy was I sore the next day! I love feeling a bit sore. The music just gets you really going and Chalene Johnson is just amazing!

Starting in January I will be starting Turbo Fire officially. I think I am gonna finish up with Slim In 6 first. Awhile back I was getting a bit frustrated with not loosing weight, or only just a little bit. I think I have figured out why I haven't been. I really don't think I am getting my heart rate up high enough and I was just doing pretty much the same thing day after day. So I am making it one of my goals to keep changing things up here and there.

I have been eating great! Right now I am in a 90 Clean eating Challenge and doing really good with it. I do need to get in the habit of writing what I eat down. I have tried logging stuff online and it is just so tedious for me. I do have a journal that I log my workouts in, so I just need to keep track of my food as well.

Along with the Turbo Fire that I got I also got a bottle of P90X Recovery drink. At first I just wasn't to sure if I would really like it because it's orange flavor and I am not a huge orange person. When I did try it I couldn't believe how good it was! It tastes like an orange cream sickle mmmm it's really good!

Overall I think I have been doing pretty well, but I still have room for improvement!

Goals:
  • Change things up
  • Keep eating clean
  • Track my food

I didn't get a chance to weigh myself today, so I will get to that later this week.

This weeks blogging carnival is sponsored by @EarthFootwear!! Love EarthFootwear!!

Have a great week everyone!!

Late Mamavation Monday 11/30

It's been a crazy week for sure! Last Sunday JR's father texed him and told him that his step mom had just passed that morning. It wasn't a total shock, because she had been battling lung cancer for about 2 years. So, after much debate whether or not to take our oldest Joclyn out of school to drive for 7 hours to the funeral, we took the girls. I am glad that we did. It was a bit crazy with the two year old, but all in all it went good.

We left Monday evening, popped on the DVD players and got there about 1 am Tuesday. We ended up staying at JR's dads house. I met a lot of his family, but the bad part is it's only a very small portion of his family. His father had like 12-13 brothers and sisters! Joclyn ended up having a great time, she played with JR's younger brother that is about 12. His brother is the one that will be taking it the hardest, it was his mommy, his teacher.

Before we left we stopped to see JR's gram and his other aunts on his moms side of the family. They are a hoot! His aunt says "there are no more men left in this world, only males." Meaning MEN- would open doors for the women, help you around the house. MALES- go to work come home expect to be waited on hand and foot. JR was smart and stayed out of the conversation, but his older brother decided to interject. Needless to say it was a full blown battle between his gram and brother! Her whole life she was a stay at home mom that loved to watch kids and she still does. One day her husband came home from work and told her you don't do anything, but just sit around all day and watch TV. Well, she decided to take a 2-3 week vacation from everything and just do as he said! She just sat and watched TV all day, didn't do the dishes, laundry, cook, clean. She said her husband didn't know what to do! That is just how she is. She has never had a drivers licence, and has walks just about everywhere, or if it's a ways away she will take the bus. She is truly an amazing woman!

We headed home Wednesday evening and it took us forever to get out of Philadelphia! For some reason we never have trouble getting there, it's getting out! So, we didn't get home until a little after 2 on Thursday. I do have to say though it's a lot better to go at night that way the girls slept for most of the ride and weren't fighting. After a few hours of sleep we went to my moms for Thanksgiving dinner. It was great, although I probably ate more than what I should have.

Due to all the circumstances last week I hardly got any exercises in, so my goals for this week is to get back on track!

Goals:
  • Get back on track
  • Drink tons of water

Oh, I almost forgot to tell you all!! I am getting TURBO FIRE for Christmas!!! I am so excited and can't wait to get it!! So, why don't you give the gift of fitness this holiday season!!

Mamavation Monday 11/15

Last week wasn't to bad. I wish I would have been able to get more exercises in and ate a little better, but I have a lot of other positives that happened last week!

  1. I tried on a pair of pants that I have not been able to get into in a long time!
  2. Coco dusted almonds are now my chocolate fix!
  3. I met Laura of @lkp24 in real life and she is just awesome!
  4. Started Christmas shopping Saturday & got most of the girls stuff.
  5. Had parent teacher conference & Joclyn is doing very well in school!
  6. I did yoga last night for the first time in 2 week!
  7. Took my blood pressure the other day and it was 111/77!!!!!! It hasn't been that low in like 5 years with out medication!!!
  8. I just overall feel like I am on fire, I have so much energy!
The only thing that I am not looking forward to is Thanksgiving....We will be going to two this year. One will be at my moms and the other will be at the in-laws on Saturday. My goal will be not to stuff myself!! That will be hard, but I can do it!!!(I think I can)

Weight:
152.2

That means I have
LOST 2.6 Pounds!!

Measurements:

R Thigh- 21.5- Same
L Thigh- 21.5- Same
Hips- 36- Lost 1 inch
Waist- 35 Same
R Arm- 11- Same

Last Week:

Monday
  • 36 minutes Tae Bo
  • 35 minutes Treadmill did 2.39 miles
  • 60 minutes P90X Shoulders & Arms
Tuesday
  • 43 minutes P90X Cardio
  • 15 minutes Treadmill .5 miles
  • 57 minutes P90X Core Symergistics
Wednesday
  • I can't remember what I did this day?
Thursday
  • Used the Bender Ball that I won. It's challenging to say the least.
Friday
  • 36 Minutes Tae Bo
  • 16 Minutes Treadmill 1 mile
Saturday
  • Started Christmas shopping, but walked about 3 miles doing it!
Sunday
  • 36 Minutes Tae Bo
  • 53 Minutes Yoga
I know a few of you have asked be about P90X. I love it! I do have to say though, I would not recommend this to someone that is just starting out with exercising. It can be a very intense workout if you follow it to a T, if you don't already work out a lot you are just setting yourself up for failure. Slim In 6 though I would recommend for someone starting out. It starts you off with simple, but challenging exercises and the first DVD is only 25 minutes long.

Mamavation Monday 11/8

Last week was a busy week for sure, so I didn't get in as many workouts as I would have liked. My nutrition was also not the greatest, but hey that's life sometimes. You can't have a perfect week every week.

On the really positive side I won a Cardio Coach Volume 3 a few weeks ago. I started using it last week at my moms on the treadmill. Let me tell ya, I never thought that I would love to jog/run, but I do!!! Now the treadmill doesn't go all that fast so it's more of a jog, but I am in LOVE!!!! As a kid I hated to run, I would always get side cramps and it just hurt so bad, so I never really got into it. With Cardio Coach it starts you off nice and easy and slowly works your way up to running. There were times when I was actually supposed to slow down, but I just kept on going because it just felt so good.

Short and sweet this week!

~Mamavation~ 11/1

Last week as I was reading other Mamavation posts, I vowed to myself that I would be 100% Positive with this weeks post. I think that mental thinking really helped me through the week! I didn't let any of the negatives get me down, I just kept looking up!

This week has been a week filled with good changes! I had said that I was going to really step up on my nutrition, and I did! I have always loved to bake, and just hated to cook! Well, I am really learning to like cooking! Two nights this week I made some really nummmy dinner! Baked halibut with sauteed fresh portabella mushrooms and onions. I was so in love with this! The one night I made tacos for the family with lean ground beef and I made the halibut for myself and put it in a Flat Out wrap just like tacos! I love fish, but the rest of the family isn't too fond of it though. I have also been filling up my plate with tons of veggies! Instead when I get that craving for chocolate I have been smacking on some almonds instead! When I go grocery shopping though I am gonna pick up the some of the coco covered ones!

I was also so excited that I found my oat meal that I used to love so much! Kashi GOLEAN Hot Cereal Creamy Truly Vanilla, I loved it when I first found it at Walmart, then I stopped getting it for awhile, mainly because they were always out of it. So, when I started back on this healthy journey I was on the look out for it, but could not find it anywhere! That is until last week I found it at Giant Eagle!!

I have been eyeing this one recipe for a few weeks now and Saturday I decided to go for it! Strawberry Pop Tarts with a whole wheat crust! In fact I have found a lot of really healthy kid friendly recipes over at Cheeky Kitchen!

Now that I have talked a bunch about food, how about the workouts that I did last week!! For the last few months, now that I think about it, I have really just been doing the same thing week after week! So, I changed it up a bit this week! I tried different cardio workouts and also did a strength training day. I also dusted off my moms old treadmill and when I mean old it's about 20 years old, but it still works! So instead of just sitting at my moms and not doing much of anything I have been jumping on that for awhile!

Ok I cannot contain my excitement any more!!!!

Weight: 154.8

Your know what that means?????

I LOST 3.8 POUNDS!!!!

Can you believe that!!! I so needed to see that today and it has really got me so excited!!!!

Mamavation Monday 10/25

Today is another Monday. Another Monday... A Monday of frustration... I feel like I have been working my butt off and not getting any where... I have been eating fairly well, besides a little Hershey's mini at night, to fix a chocolate hankering. I'm thinking though that I may need to really step up on my nutrition though.

Got my results back with my thyroid and they were the same no change so, still on 25mg of synthroid daily. I was somewhat a little let down that it didn't need increased. I am thinking of switching doctors, one that knows more on hypothyroidism. The only problem is I live in a small town and the closest that actually specializes in it is 2 hours away, but I think it may be worth it. After 5 years of dealing with doctors not knowing what is wrong with me and trying to fix the problem and not look at the whole picture is so aggravating! At least this one listened to me to check all my hormone levels, not that they were going to check it until I actually asked them.

Although last week was very busy with JR and his step dad worked on putting in the new furnace almost every day. So, it was just me dealing with the girls and trying to keep them out of the way as they hook it up. JR worked all day at work and then would come home and work on the furnace until 9 or 10 at night, so he was totally and utterly exhausted last week. By Thursday they had enough hooked up that we could have the furnace guy come and hook up the wires, so we had heat! It was so nice to actually have heat, especially since they were calling for snow showers that night. Then to top that off when JR got back to his shop Friday his boss told him he was laid off for the season, nice birthday present for him huh.

This week on Mamavation TV the Special Guest is TRACEY MALLETT! Maybe she can help me to figure out why I am not loosing all that much. So far I have lost 13.4 pounds since July 12. If you average it out that is .89 pounds a week.... Frustrating, especially when I feel like I have been trying so hard.

I would also like to congratulate April of @GAFlygirl for being the Sista of the Week!

Also a BIG thanks to SUBWAY for being this weeks blogging carnival sponsor!!! Subway so needs a DRIVETHRU!!! Sometime you just don't have the time or energy to go in and order, especially with two hungry, cranky kids! But they have the best food ever! I am still committing to stay fit for me and my family! Jared is so awesome!

Mamavation Monday- 10/18

Are you all excited for the Mamavation Launch Party? I am! Can't wait to see who will be the next Mamavation Mom's!!!

Last week was very hectic. I had doctors appointments and lots of stuff going on. I didn't get all my workouts in, but it could have been worse. My doctor checked my thyroid levels and I haven't heard back as to what they were yet. I feel like my dosage needs increased, but who knows. Last week my other gram went in the hospital for sever leg pain and last time I heard they have yet to figure out what is going on. On the plus side though she isn't in as much pain.

JR started taking out all the duct work for the furnace and let me tell you it was totally disgusting! No wonder we would all get sick in the winter time. He just has a little bit more to finish up before we have HEAT!

JR and I were able to escape the girls for one night. We went to dinner and then went to a few bars. This was the first we have done this in a few months, so it was much over due and of course I over did it on the alcholo, so that would be the reason for my......
 + .8 GAIN
I'm not beating myself up for it because we had fun and we never get out. I'm sure most of it is water retention because I didn't drink much water Sunday. We will see what happens next week.

Mamavation Monday- 10/11

This last week was a bit better than last week other than when JR went to light the furnace flames decided to shoot out of it. The furnace is more than likely the original furnace when the house was built about 50 years ago. So, now every time that the furnace kicks on flames shoot out of it! So instead of leaving it on we had to shut it off although we did think about just leaving it on and leaving for awhile just to see if the house would still be standing. My dad delivers fuel oil and he had their furnace guy come out to look at it. He cleaned it out, but it was still shooting out flames. So, the verdict is we needed to get a new furnace. We thought about using the left over insurance money that we will get from the Jeep that got hit by a deer because JR was just planning on fixing it himself(which he can do and I love that he is a Jack-of-all-trades! I think that's why I married him!). My dad called me the middle of the week and said that he was going to be getting us a new furnace! He has a special account through his work because he doesn't take his employers health insurance, so the money that they would be putting into his health ins. goes into a different account and he is allowed to use this account for furnace and other related things. So, he doesn't even have to pay for it! We now have the new furnace in the basement and have to wait for JR's step dad to come and help him figure out what all we need to get to get it hooked up. One major crisis has been solved! Amanda of @beeacutie2 really cheered me up the one night when I was really down about the furnace. She really made me laugh!! Yeah, girl you know what I'm talking about!! LOL

On the smoking front.... I still am, but I have really cut down from what I used to. I had a doctors appointment the other day and she prescribed me some meds to help me to quit. I went to the pharmacy to pick it up and they said my insurance doesn't cover it and it was over $100! I cannot afford that right now. I went home and looked at the insurance info that I have and it said that it should be covered. To make an hour long story short, I have to call a lady that covers the insurance stuff at JR's work today!
This week despite all the stress, I think I did wonderful with eating right! For dinner just about every night I had a salad instead of pasta and other things. One night I made some Baked Ratatoi and I loved it! I wish the rest of the family would have liked it as much as I did.  With everything going on this last week I didn't get in as much exercise as I would have liked, but I did get some in. I have been journaling my workouts and food, but really slacked off with it this week. So one of my goals is to get back into journaling. Yoga has been my savior, although I was only able to get it in once this week. I hope to get more in this week.

My absence with Mamavation TV the last few weeks is because I have been trying to spend more time with JR, but I will be making a come back this week! I have really missed all of you and I need some ME time to really focus on my weight goals and KEEP me focused!

This week I am not posting what I did fitness wise due to my lack of journaling, but here is my fitness goal for this week:

Mamavation Monday- 10/4

Life has been crazy.... It never stops. My baby had her 2nd Birthday on the 30th. My baby is growing up... The beginning of the week my hubby thought that he was getting laid off towards the end of the week. We were expecting it, but not this soon. He is now a seasonal worker spraying oil on the roads for the state. We have bills that we need to consolidate and none of the local banks want to do anything for us. No wonder our country is in the situation that we are in. If we can't get our payments down on the bike I have a feeling that they will be taking it when JR does get laid off... Gram has been driving my mom to almost insanity and I seem to be the only clam to the storm, but my baby and I are made as the excuses for something that she does not do or something that happens. She doesn't know what she is saying or doing, but it is hurting everyone. She doesn't remember going to our wedding last year... Then on my daughters birthday a deer decided to jump in front of JR on his way to work. He was ok and the Jeep isn't too bad, but just another thing to stress over. JR is still working thank God! In fact he will be out of town working for a few days next week.

Saturday we had my baby's Birthday party and I totally indulged.... I had 2 huge pieces of cake, 2 sloppy Joe's, and ice cream. Today I feel like all my hard work is lost. It's a rainy dreary day today and that has really set my depressed mood. Bella's party was small with just grandparents and a friend, but I felt so bad. We don't have a lot of money right now, so we couldn't provide a whole lot for her. I know she is only 2, but with our first she had everything and then some. I feel that she is always getting left out and I hate it! I feel so bad that we can't provide as much for her. Hubby's parents take the oldest all the time, but they have only once taken Bella. So, when JR and I go out (once in a blue moon), my parents take Bella and his take Joc. As my mom keeps saying they just don't know what they are missing. And I totally agree, she is sweet, loving and so funny. Joc is the total opposite of her. When they stop to take Joc to ride her horse or go some place, it just breaks my heart because Bella just screams like someone is truly hurting her. And they are... It just showed at her party yesterday who she would rather be with... My parents. She sat almost the whole time with them and not JRs. JR says the reason that they don't take her is because of the diapers, well, GET OVER IT, SHE IS YOUR GRANDDAUGHTER AND SO DIFFERENT THAN JOC, GET TO KNOW HER! They truly don't know what they are missing with her.....

I have been trying to combat all this stress with yoga and I have a feeling that if I wasn't doing it, I would be a total mess. It's truly amazing.... I am also planning on quiting smoking tomorrow! 10/4/10 is my quit day! I have to quit for my own health and my family!

My Goals this week:
  • Take a deep breath
  • Keep breathing
  • QUIT SMOKING!
  • Commit to Fit(this is my life and I need to be healthy for not only me, but my family! This is a commitment that I must make! I always told myself that I would never get overweight, and here I am over weight. So, I am not only going to get rid of this weight, but I am committing myself to be more active than I have been, and eat healthier than I have been. This is my Commit to Fit!)
I would like to give a BIG shout out to the SOTW Shelley @Momma_Oz ! Congrats!!

This weeks blogging Carnival is sponsored by  SUBWAY and their Commit to Fit Campaign and Jared! Jared is a true inspiration!
