Weekly CheckIn- 9/29

Shrinkvivor Challenge at the Sisterhood!

I had a good week last week. I had NO Fast Food! Although I did have the urge to order a pizza, but I refrained and made one instead. Other than that I ate well. Saturday I just felt like crap and didn't feel like doing anything. I still pushed myself to get through it and did a workout. For the most part I stayed away from dairy products last week, except for a bit of creamer in my coffee one day. Then Saturday I had some cottage cheese and after that is when I felt like crap. My stomach hurt and I just didn't feel all that great. When I was a kid I was allergic to dairy and tons of other foods. I though that I had out grown the allergy to dairy, but with what happened Saturday, I don't think that I have. So, I am going to try and stay away from dairy products. I have been drinking almond milk and it's great! NO SOY! SOY IS BAD!!!!

I was using Jillian Michaels Protein Powder and it was just making me feel so bloated, so I stopped using that a few weeks ago. It also contains milk and soy. I did get some rice protein powder a few days ago that does not contain milk or soy, but I have yet to try it. I also got some chia seeds and they are great! I know most of you are thinking what the heck, isn't that what you put on your chia pet? Well, no it isn't they are very small little seeds that almost look like Poppy seeds. Your next question would be so what's so good about them? They have 4 grams of Fiber in 1 tablespoon!! Isn't that just amazing!! I have been adding them to my cereal and other things. I was a little surprised when I first tried them, because once they become wet from your saliva they almost turn into like a tapioca like texture in your mouth. They are great though for getting in your fiber!

For the Shrinkvivor Challenge I have had NO DRIVE THRU FOOD!!

Making Time for Workouts

I know alot of you have been thinking, how on earth does she have the time to get in all that exercising. I am going to share just how I do it.

First off. Get a note book to track yourself. I have one of those journals that you can't rip the pages out of(well you can, but other pages will fall out as well). Not only do you need to be tracking your weight, but also TAKE MEASUREMENTS! Some weeks you may not losse any weight, but you may be loosing inches. This means that you are gaining muscle, and that is a good thing!

Then Usually on Sunday's or Monday's I plan out a work out schudel for the week. Here is mine for this Week:

Monday:
  • AM-30 minutes Elliptical
  • After-50 minutes Slim In 6- Ramp It Up
  • PM- 56 minutes Shiva Rea-Daily Energy Vinyasa Flow Yoga
Tuesday:
  • AM-30 minutes Elliptical
  • PM- #Tworkout
Wednesday:
  • AM- 30 minutes Elliptical
  • Afternoon- 30 minutes Exhale Core Fusion Yoga Energy Flow
  • PM- 50 minutes Shiva Rea-Daily Energy Vinyasa Flow Yoga
Thursday:
  • AM- 30 minutes Elliptical
  • Afternoon- 50 minutes Slim In 6- Ramp It Up
  • PM- 50 minutes Exhale Core Fusion Yoga Energy Flow
Friday:
  • AM- 30 minutes Elliptical
  • Afternoon- 50 minutes Slim In 6- Ramp It Up
  • PM- Any Yoga that I can fit in
Saturday:
  • AM- Any Elliptical
  • Afternoon- Any workout that I can fit in depending on what our family is doing for the weekend together.
Sunday:
  • AM- Any Elliptical
  • Afternoon- Any workout that I can fit in depending on what our family is doing for the weekend together.
Typically I take the weekends off to just spend time with my family, but if I get a chance to squeeze something in I do.

Now, I fit in the Elliptical in the mornings. I get this in when I get the oldest on the school bus and the almost 2 year old is eating her cereal and watching her morning shows. My elliptical is in my dinning room that way I have access to it at anytime and can see everything that is going on in the house.

In the Afternoon when the little one is taking a nap I get in my afternoon workout. Sometimes she does happen to wake up when I am in the middle of it. So, I pause my workout, get her up, give her some milk and while she is drinking it I continue my workout. Sometimes she even likes to do what I am doing and it is really cute!

In the evening I LOVE to do yoga! After the kids are in bed and the hubby is in bed(or out of town) I practice yoga. Now JR has been out of town for 3 days this week so I really have been trying to get it in, because some nights when he is home I like to go to bed when he does. Yoga relaxes me after a long stressful day, it clears your mind and soul. Oh, and don't forget about the YOGA EVENT coming up on the 4th!
The weekends I usually use as my off day's so that I can spend time with my family. If I find that I happen to have some time, then I will workout. Sometimes the girls and I will walk down to the park and walk around there for awhile. I have been trying to incourage my girls to be active, so we can all do stuff together.

I know this looks like a lot, don't panic. I did not start off with all this stuff, I have worked my way up to it. When I first started I just used my elliptical a few times a week. Then I started to do it just about everyday and was also walking alot. Then I started to incorporate some fitness DVDs, only about twice a week or so, but still using the elliptical or walking a lot. You just have to start out with little baby steps and work your way up. The longer you are consistent with one thing like walking, it will become second nature.

Try and make time for yourself. If you can only get in 15 minutes at a time, then use those 15 minutes to do something active! Get your kids involved, my girls love to do what mommy is doing. Most importantly DO NOT GIVE UP ON YOURSELF! You can do this!

ZenV

I don't have an MP3 player, but would love to have one, especially while working out! This one would be great. My oldest daughter has one that cost us only $10, it's cheap, but it works for a 6 year old. When the hubby found it he asked me if I wanted him to get another one and not thinking at the time I said no... I have been cursing myself ever since. She has all her music that she likes on there, and I would love to listen to "my kinda music" on my own ZENV! You can head on over to Show Me How You Do That and check out the giveaway!

Weekly CheckIn- 9/22

The last few weeks have just been crazy. With Joc starting back to school, taking care of gram, and Bella just about to enter the terrible 2s(let me tell you she is already there!) I am starting to feel like a chicken with my head chopped off running in all different directions. I know I should not be complaining because alot of you others out there work and take your kids to all sorts of activities and I have a great respect for all of you! Finding a balance between my family, blogging, and fitness has been a tough challenge for me these last few weeks.

My husbands step father got our girls some new bedroom furniture. Before my oldest daughter had a daybed and the youngest had her crib turned into a toddler bed. Now there room isn't quite that big and with all the furniture and toys it was just a nightmare. So he got the girls a bunk bed that has drawers underneath, a dresser, and a desk that has a huge hutch over it. It is really beautiful! Well you know who had to clean out the entire room? Any guesses? ME! I took everything out except the daybed because I couldn't get it apart. The bolts were in way too tight. The NEW furniture got moved in and the bed couldn't quite fit against the one wall because my hubby hasn't taken out the air conditioner yet so the bed was somewhat floating in the room, thus I was unable to put everything else back into their room...I couldn't take the rest of my house having clothes, toys and furniture everywhere! Wasn't that the point of the yard sale last month? to get rid of this stuff. Well, after enough complaining, well, not much maybe once a day I would remind JR to take the air out and put the bed back so I could get everything in order. He has been under alot of stress as well, so I have to tread lightly. Sunday he took the air out and put the bed back!! So everything is now back in order, for now anyway.

Sorry if I have been venting a bit, but it feels good to let it go...

For the Shinkvivor Challenge I calculated that I needed to get in 81 oz. of water a day. I surpassed that everyday of the challenge! Total water intake 542 oz!

Total Miles: 18.05
Eating wise it could have been better...but
Over all my fitness routine that I have planned out is working well. Here is what I did last week:

Monday:
  • 30 minutes Elliptical
  • 50 minutes Slim In 6- Ramp It Up
Tuesday:
  • 30 minutes Elliptical
  • Moved EVERYTHING out of the girls room to make way for new bunk bed, dresser, & desk!
Wednesday:
  • 30 minutes Elliptical
  • 50 minutes Slim In 6- Ramp It Up
Thursday:
  • 30 minutes Elliptical
  • 25 minutes Slim In 6- Start It Up
Friday:
Saturday:
  • 2.5 miles Elliptical
  • Walked to the park with the girls 4.13 miles
  • Water- 108 oz.
Sunday:
  • 4.05 miles Elliptical
  • 50 minutes Slim In 6- Ramp It Up
  • Water- 108 oz.
Monday:
Tuesday:
  • 3.02 miles Elliptical
  • #Tworkout
  • Water- 108 oz.
Some how I managed to get all of this in. This week has been even more of a struggle... I have been feeling like 'why even bother to do this' the last few days. I don't know why I have been feeling like this, but I have been pushing myself through it. If I don't want to get on my elliptical I keep telling myself that I have to do this for me and my family. One thing that I have been doing to keep me going on the elliptical is reading a book. If I'm not reading I keep and eye on the timer and time just seems to go nowhere. Reading on the other hand makes it fly by.

 Weight: 161

Hey guess what?
I've lost 1.8 pounds!

Measurements:

Waist- 38 Same
Hips- 38 Same
Right Thigh- 22 Lost 1/2 inch!
Left Thigh- 22 Lost 1/2 inch!
Right Arm- 12 Same
Left Arm- 12 Same

My Goals for this week:

  •  GET OUT OF BED!
  •  Keep pushing myself to get through this
  • Keep up the water intake
  • Eat healthy
By the way don't forget about the Yoga Event! I have gotten a lot of great products that I am so in love with and I can't wait to share them with you all!!

My Confession- Getting out of bed....

True Confessions

I have a confession to make.... I have a very hard time getting out of bed in the morning...

For the last few years I have had such difficulty just wanting to get out of bed. I was always one that could sleep all day if you would let me. One of my main issues that I have been trying to work on is getting out of bed early in the morning. I set both my alarm clock and the alarm on my phone and I just seem to let them go on and on or reach over and hit the snooze button. This all started a year or two after I came down with high blood pressure and just has progressively gotten worse. I was finally diagnosed with hypothyroidism a little over a year ago and have been on synthroid for it. I have overall felt a lot better, but I still have the issue of getting out of bed. Once I am out I am usually fine to go about the day with energy. Does anyone have any suggestions or ideas to help me get out of bed? I would truly appreciate it. If I could force myself out bright and early then maybe my day won't seem as crazy trying to get everything in.

I just have no ambition in the morning. Please help....

~Weekly Check In~

This week was pretty busy. My oldest daughter started 1st grade Wednesday. She and I were both excited for her to go back. She likes her teacher so far, I just hope that it stays that way.

After my mom spent almost all last weekend at my grandmothers house, she decided that it was time to move her into her house. So I spent most of the time at my grams packing her up to move in with my mom. Gram has been doing pretty good. Although she didn't quite want to give up her house, but it's time. She has lived alone for about 30 or more years with no family near her. Then about 3 years ago she realized that she was going to need more help and decided to make a BIG move from Arizona to Pennsylvania.

I had a good week though, even though it was busy. I am going to try and get on a fitness schedule, just so I can get into some kind of a routine and STICK TO IT! Although I have been doing really good with working out I think that I will just feel more stable with a schedule. I won a Slim in 6® with Debbie Siebers at Freaking Fitness and got it Monday, so I will be incorporating this into my schedule.

Here is my plan:

Monday-AM-At least 15 minutes Elliptical; PM- Yoga
Tuesday- AM-At least 15 minutes Elliptical; Afternoon- Slim in 6- Start It Up & Slim & 6-Pack
Wednesday- AM-At least 15 minutes Elliptical; Afternoon-Slim in 6- Start It Up; PM- Yoga
Thursday- AM-At least 15 minutes Elliptical; Afternoon-Slim in 6- Start It Up & Slim & 6-Pack
Friday- AM-At least 15 minutes Elliptical; Afternoon-Slim in 6- Start It Up; 30 minutes Elliptical
Saturday- Whatever I can fit in , more than likely though a day of rest and stretching
Sunday- Whatever I can fit in, more than likely though a day of rest and stretching

Friday afternoon I was so excited to see the FedEx man!!! Guess what I got? I got my Earth Footwear!!!!! OMG I still can't believe I won them!! I got the Integrate ones! As soon as I put them on and started walking, wow I could already feel the burn!! It took me a but to adjust to them, probably due to the fact that I have a tendency to step with my toes first and not my heal, due to many years of ballet. I have been wearing them all around the house and when I go out to the store or where ever! They are so awesome!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH EARTH FOOTWEAR!!!
Some people might think that I was BAD this week, I had ICE CREAM 2 days this week. But you know what I don't feel guilty about it one bit! And the reason for that is I only had about a scoop and a half. Now before I would have had an entire bowl! So no regrets! I did eat better than I did last week. I drank lots of water, but some days I probably could have drank more.

This week my weight is 164.4!!

I lost .4 pounds!!

Waist- 39 same

Hips- 39 same
Right Thigh- 23 same
Left Thigh- 23 same
Right Arm- 12.5 same
Left Arm- 12.5 same

Here was my week:

Monday- 30 minutes Elliptical
Tuesday- Slim in 6- Start It Up & #Tworkout
Wednesday- 30 minutes Elliptical
Thursday- Took a day off
Friday- Slim in 6- Start It Up & Slim & 6-Pack
Saturday- Wore my Earth Footwear shoes all day! They rock!
Sunday- Slim in 6- Start It Up, Slim & 6-Pack,  & 10 minutes Elliptical

Goals
  • Exercise more
  • Keep drinking lots of water
  • Keep eating better
  • Work on meal planning
  • Keep exercising more!!

I also want to congratulate @Gretablau for being the Sista of the Week!
