Mamavation Monday- 8/16

Last week was a fairly good week for me. I didn't eat as healthy as I would have liked to, but all in all it wasn't to bad. Drank tons of water!

I have been trying to get a yard sale together for while now and someone thanks to Kia gave me the boost that I needed to get it done! The clutter has just been putting me down it's all going this week!!! The last day will be bag day and if it doesn't sell then it will go right down the street to the Salvation Army Drop box! I even went to my moms yesterday to get some of my stuff from there. My whole Jeep was packed with stuff just from her house(not all of it was mine though). So this week I am TOTALLY clearing the clutter and getting rid of the JUNK!!

I think I am starting to become addicted to working out again, which is a good thing. Saturday I didn't do much besides sit around at a friend of a friend's house while the hubby worked on their truck. When we got home I sat and watched a movie for a bit with the hubby and just felt like crap. I decided to get on the elliptical for a bit. I was on for 30 minutes. After I got off I felt great! I even decided to lift a few weights while watching the movie. I felt even better!

While the hubby worked on this truck I was with the women. These women are very obese. I felt for them. This also brought back to light the vow that I told myself a long time ago that I would not let myself get to that. When I first started with Mamavation I was almost at that point that I would never let myself get to.

This week I have lost 1/2 lbs. (I think its what Leah was talking about that the muscles are swelling.) Since I started 7/12 I have lost 5.2 lbs! Wish it was more, but hey my jeans are sure fitting better! and here is why....
  • Waist- 39 Lost 1.5 inches!!!
  • Hips- 40
  • Right Thigh- 23 lost 1 inch!
  • Left Thigh- 23 lost 1 inch!
  • Right Arm- 13
  • Left Arm- 13

 Here was my week:

 Monday- Walked about 3 miles

Tuesday- I jumped in a little late for the #Tworkouts from the Sisterhood of the shrinking jeans, so I decided to do 90 minutes of Yoga

Wednesday-  Walked about 3 miles

Thursday-  Went through a bunch of the girls toys and started getting stuff ready for the yard sale 8/19

Friday- Worked out for 60 minutes then 30 minutes on the elliptical

Saturday-  30 minutes on elliptical

Sunday- Got more stuff ready for yard sale

 Exercise more
  • Keep drinking lots of water
  • Keep eating better
  • Work on meal planning
  • Keep exercising more

Be sure to check out the Fitness Friday Giveaways at various other blogs!

I also want to congratulate Julie Kimberly (@christlikemommy)for being the Sista of the Week!

Way to go on getting your exercise on! Isn't purging the clutter so liberating?! It'll feel like a brand new house when all the stuff is gone :)

When you are losing inches, you KNOW things are working. Just remember how much more muscle weighs than fat. You are losing fat and replacing it with muscle. That is a very very good sign. I have a BUNCH of muscle on my body which makes me heavier, but slimmer. I'm in a size 6 but weight about 145. Go figure!

Awesome job on the activity! Inches are the key! I feel like they show more than losing pounds!

Have a great week

Great job Carrie. I am glad working out is becoming part of your lifestyle. Have fun decluttering your surroundings with your yard sale. Have a great week. Oh yeah, I haven't talked to my girlfriend about you but isn't she awesome? I love her to pieces.

I love decluttering too! It gives me more energy and helps me feel better - which has probably helped with your exercise too. Congrats!

I love "shopping" in my own closet when things fit better too! :)

I HEART the elliptical. It's my favorite machine. I probably overdo it, though. I normally go 40-60 minutes on it. I just love to make myself sweat.

You know, I haven't even tried to put on my old pair of jeans. I wonder if I'd be pleasantly surprised...

Enough about me, though. You are doing a fabulous job! Keep up the great work.

Great job on losing the inches!! Yay! Thanks for posting the info ref The Sisterhood of the Shrinking Jeans and Fitness Friday Giveaways. Definitely going to check them out :)

Ref the clutter, I have found that leaving it sit around waiting for the yard sale doesn't help me at all. So I joined a Yahoo Group "FreeCycle" and gave some away, then put some on Craig's List for sale, and sent out an email to Friends and Family. Needless to say, I cleared a lot of clutter and didn't have to wait for a yard sale. Most of the stuff was gone the next day or within a day or two :)

Looking forward to reading about your progress next week!
