Mamavation Monday- 2/21

How is everyone doing this week? I hope that everyone is doing well! I had a good week last week and I am hoping to continue on that streak!

I did great with my workouts as usual. Hubby had gotten me some weighted gloves for Turbo Fire and I used them all last week! I think I get more excited over fitness gifts than anything else! Can I say WOW,  my back and shoulder muscles were sore for a few days, but it felt awww sooo goood!!! You might think I am crazy, but I love being a little sore! Oh, and by the way you are going to have to check out MY FIRST TIME!!!

I have decided that I am not weighing in this week due to a few factors. Monthly bloat issues and also the fact that I started using the weighted gloves. I know that I built a ton of muscle with them already and I don't want to discourage myself.

After doing a full week of logging what I ate, I feel so in control! I continued to do the Weight Watchers points and so far it seems to be working great! It's actually really easier than what I thought it was going to be. Yoga and reading filled those mindless after dinner hours and I think I may have only snacked twice last week, instead of almost every night.

Here is what I have planned for this week:

Monday- Fire 45 EZ
               Core 20

Tuesday- Fire 45 EZ

Wednesday-Fire 30
                Sculpt 30

Thursday-Core 20
                  Tone 30

Friday- Fire 45 EZ

Saturday- Rest

Sunday- Core 20

I hope that everyone has a wonderful week!!

The First Time

Your mind is set and you are wanting to do this so bad, but you are still scared.... Scared of the unknown..... It's a glorious warm 60 degrees out, warmth that you have not felt in months! You tell yourself yes I am going to do this TODAY!! It might snow again tonight, so I will do this now. I put on my alo pants and my New Balance running shoes. Walked to the kitchen and downed some water. I then got my partner all ready and we were out the door!

We jumped, dodged, and maneuvered around the slushy mud as much as possible, that is until we reached a hard substance underfoot. Then it was on! We ran and ran, until I had a hard time breathing, then I would slow down for a bit. My partner would sometimes fumble on my feet, thus making me get out of my rhythm, but all in all I have a wonderful partner! Then I would pick up the pace again until those dang lungs would give me fits again, then the side stitches began.... Was I just going to fast or were my lungs not used to being in the still cool weather? Who knows, but I still kept going. There was no stopping me. Towards the end my mind controlled my body and here is what it said... "you are not going to stop, you will do this!!" I was totally IN THE ZONE!

We reached the home stretch and I felt great other than the bit of pain in my side. We trekked along and made it back though the mud and slush. Then It was time to give my partner a much needed bath!
Let me tell you running is such an exhilarating feeling! I love it so much! This is the first time that I have done a run that was not on the treadmill. It was a bit weird at first, but then I got the hang of it really well. That is besides not being able to breathe all that great. I think that I was actually running faster than what I was used to running on the treadmill, because it does not go all that fast. I think I had a really great time of 2.11 miles in 30 minutes!

I have a wonderful running partner though, his name is Brody and he is a German Shepard. He may look all big, bad and tough, and his bark might scare the living bejeauses out of you, but he keeps a great pace with me. So you could say he is my running partner and body guard, although if someone came up to him he would more than likely run in the opposite direction, dragging me behind.

My partner Brody!

Tri Update

Last week was a crazy week for me to get any kind of training in due to the fact that poor Bella had a nasty little tummy bug. So she got held for most of the week last week. My bike is down and out of storage! But it is in need of new tires for sure and not sure how everything else works on it just yet. I am hoping to con my dear hubby into letting me buy a new bike with some of the income tax money.

This bike is on the TOP of my wish list!!
This one is also a Tri specific bike. I just love it! Although I cannot afford it. I was talking to  the other day about a Tri bike and she suggested a Trek WSD Road bike. I am currently in search of a used one, because they are a bit pricey.

I would also LOVE to have this one as well and it's not that bad in price at MSRP $729.99, but that is still out of the price range for me.

I have become an ebay and Craigslist stalker looking for the right bike! I know it's out there, it's just a matter of finding it!

Mamavation Monday 2/14

Happy Valentines Day!!

I hope that everyone has a wonderful Valentines Day today!I don't have anything exciting going on today just another day. I might put on a teddy tonight for the hubby, but that's all I am saying!

Last week went good! I did do my Shakeology 3 day cleanse and it went great! I ended up loosing 1.6 pounds total. I also have my control back!

A few years ago my grandmother gave me her Weight Watchers booklet and I decided to dig it out of hiding last week. So, I started using it last week and was surprised that I am not quite eating enough during the day and thus would explain a lot of my hunger issues at night! I also spoke to my mom about my night time eating issue and she told me to knit. Thinking about that I also realized that before Christmas I never really had this issue. The reason being....I did yoga at night! I haven't been doing yoga for awhile, so I did do one session of it last week and am thinking of incorporating more in this week. And yes I think I may also start knitting again, just to keep me busy.

I did great with my exercises. Although I didn't get any running in last week I am going to get that in this week! Here is what I have planned for this week:

Fire 55

Fire 30
Sculpt 30

Fire 45

Fire 30
Tone 30

Fire 55

Core 20
Stretch 40

Have a great week everyone!!

Mamavation Monday 12/7

Well, what can I say about last week???? It wasn't a great week eating wise, that is for sure! I did get a lot of exercises in, but all in all it didn't even weight it's self out. I ended up gaining 1.6 pounds last week.

I really need to focus on my eating! I am doing great with writing down what I eat, until after lunch. Then I just feel like I am so hungry and eat like I am not getting enough! I have also been eating a lot after dinner. It's like if I am not doing something constructive when I get home, I am eating. The worst time is after I get the girls in bed and JR and I are watching TV. I think I have just lost control, so this week I am going to put a leash on this and get it under control! On the plus side to my eating I have been getting in about 72oz or more water a day.

I have decided to do a Shakeology Cleanse. Last time I did one I did notice that it really helped me to gain control over what I ate. I also didn't crave as many sweet things after I was done with it. I am currently using the Greenberry and am hoping to get my Chocolate in tomorrow. The Greenberry is good, but I so prefer the Chocolate!!

My biggest goal for this week is to control what I put into my body!!

I hope that everyone has a superific week!!

Shakeology is a meal replacement shake designed to be enjoyed every day, one meal a day. But for this cleanse, it will be used three times a day for three days.

The Shakeology Cleanse is meant to jump start you in your fitness, break a plateau or shred pounds fast & effectively in a healthy way. The key is caloric efficiency; getting the most nutrients possible out of the fewest number of calories. It’s too fat restrictive for a lifestyle plan, but perfect for a three day jump-start to looking and feeling better.

This can help you become healthier from the inside out. Internal health is the foundation to external beauty.

People are getting fantastic results ~ Lose weight, feel great!

The basics are as follows:
  • 3 SHAKEOLOGY Shakes a day (blended with water and ice)
  • 2 Cups of Green Tea a Day (Triple Leaf Detox Tea is good choice)
  • 1 piece of fruit a day (Apple, pear, orange, banana, mango, etc)

1 salad for dinner (lettuce, veggies, lean protein)
- 4 oz lean protein in salad (WHITE poultry or fish)
- Only Low Fat Dressings.

NO: Dairy (no almond, soy, or rice milk) or extra sugars. If it’s not on the list, don’t eat it!

Sample Menu (Repeat all three days):
1 cup of green tea

Shakeology - 1 scoop, blended with ice & 8-10 oz of water
Optional: ½ cup of fruit (only for the super conditioned – not the weight challenged)

Beat the Winter "Blahs" with Exercise

Feeling a post-holiday letdown? Tired of shorter days and early nights? Wondering how you can get through the dark months as you pine for summer sunshine? Fear not. You can walk—or jog, run, or lift—your way to a brighter mood with exercise.
When you're feeling low, moving may be the last thing you feel like doing. As Sir Isaac Newton pointed out, an object at rest tends to stay at rest. But increasingly, science is proving that if you can peel yourself off the couch and put one foot in front of the other, you'll feel better, both about yourself and the world.

So how do you make this happen?

Working out "cheers up" your body chemistry.

When you're physically active, your body releases natural chemicals that actually make you feel good. Neurotransmitters like endorphins, serotonin, dopamine, and norepinephrine help you feel relaxed and happy.

Exercise also reduces your body's production of hormones like cortisol, which are released at high levels during chronic stress and depress the immune system.

Working out has a calming effect on the body. When all else is equal, the harder to exercise the calmer you'll be.

You can help support these positive results with the right supplements, like ActiVit® Multivitamins or Shakeology®.

Move your body, change your mind.

Exercise has been proven to:

•Boost confidence: Achieving a fitness goal, no matter how small, will give you a sense of accomplishment.
•Burn calories: How else does the weight melt away? Plus getting thinner and feeling more fit is likely to cheer you up.
•Redirect your focus: You'll be too busy trying to do one more rep of that crunch, curl, or kick to think about anything negative.

Show you can do something positive: By choosing to get up and move, you're taking care of yourself, and coping in a healthy way. And when you observe that, you'll believe you can take other steps forward.
How much exercise makes a difference?

As little as 10 to 15 minutes of activity can improve your mood, especially if you're doing something dynamic, like running or cycling. Harvard psychiatrist John J. Ratey, M.D., writes that a single workout can jump-start the feel-good chemical changes. So the most important thing is getting started. To get the greatest benefits, work your way up to at least 30 minutes a day, 3 to 5 days a week.

What kind of workout is best?

One you enjoy. Seriously. If it's not something you like, you're less likely to make the effort. For instance, I don't happen to be a fan of plyometrics, despite its many benefits. When I work out, I opt for cycling, yoga, or low-impact programs instead. They still get me sweating my way into a great mood. Identify the activities you enjoy, and get going.
How do you get started?

Choose something accessible. The power of exercise doesn't come from fancy equipment, but from the effort you put in. If you pick something you can get to and that fits your timetable, you've lowered the barriers to beginning. For example, you can:

•Turn everyday errands into workouts when you do them on foot or by bike. (Extra points for adding a hill, or taking the long way home.)
•Check out the activities offered at your local park, like swimming, basketball games, or fitness classes.
•Commit to an in-home Beachbody® workout program that's sure to fit your schedule.

So start today. Boost your activity level and help put a smile on your face. Because you don't have to wait for the sunshine to feel good.
